Adobe Flashplayer Problems

Hi Sorry to bother you again, but I am experiencing problems watching youtube and playing certain games on-line. They say that my Adobe Flashplayer is out of date. I have tried to download the latest version but I'm not sure it is downloading correctly as I still cannot do either of these things   . Could you please possibly help?

go to  here  and download 'Hijack This!'  self installer.  Save it to the desktop or other suitable place. DO NOT just press run from the website Double click on the file and it will install to C:\program files\hijackthis and create an entry in the start menu.
Click on the entry in start menu  to run HijackThis
Click the "Scan" button, when the scan is finished the scan button will become "Save Log" click that and save the log.
Go to where you saved the log and click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" then Paste the log back here in a reply.
It will possibly show  issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required,
so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Please create a list of programs that can be removed using Add/Remove Programs
Start HiJackThis
Press 'Config'
Press 'Misc Tools'
Press 'Open Uninstall Manager'
Press 'Save List'
Save the log to a convenient location
Copy the log and post its contents in this thread

Hi hopefully here is the log file you asked for.
Also a friend of mine said he had come across this problem using IE, but said he did not have this with Firefox or Goggle Chrome? I tried Firefox and the flashplayer programmes run fine using this. Don't know if this is of any help as well..?

it is likely to be either Zone alarm or spyware doctor

both of those have flash blockers for IE so check settinmgs of them

also

Run hijackthis, put a tick in the box  beside these entries listed below and ONLY these entries, double check to make sure, then make sure all browser & email windows are closed and press fix checked

Cheers for help. I have checked my settings on Zone alarm and I think they are fine. I have also performed the 'fix' on HJT, but still no joy.

The Spyware Doctor I deleted from my computer sometime ago although I have not been able to delete it all.

Delete any existing version of ComboFix you have sitting on your desktop

Please read and follow all these instructions very carefully

Download ComboFix from Here to your Desktop.

**Note:  It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop  and run from the desktop and not any other folder on your computer**

1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

• Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus and  anti-malware real-time protection and any script blocking components of them or your firewall before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results" or stop combofix running at all
• Click on THIS LINK to see instructions on how to temporarily disable many security programs while running combofix. The list does not cover every program. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
  
• Remember to re enable the protection again after combofix has finished

2. Close any open browsers and any other programs you might have running

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.

If you are using windows XP It might display a pop up saying that "Recovery console is not installed, do you want to install?"
Please select yes & let it download the files it needs to do this
When finished, it will produce a report for you. 
Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review


****Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze ****

Note: ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making it the default browser.

Please do not install any new programs or update anything unless told to do so while we are fixing your problem.

Sorry for the late reply, but I've been away. Before your last reply, about running a new combofix program, somebody said to me about trying a "system restore". I tried this and my adobe flashplayer now appears to be running fine.
