Active Desktop won't 'hold' through a reboot
« on: November 27, 2010, 00:20:46 »
All of a sudden, a graph from a web page, normally on the Desktop, was gone after a reboot.  I can replace it, but it won't reload as it used to.

I don't believe there's any malware or infection in Windows.  The Active Desktop is sometimes 'delicate' and this has happened before.  Only this time, I wasn't able to restore the Registry in time.

Will any of your Desktop repair software help fix this?  I tried running SpyKiller-cleandesktop.exe, but the result was the same: the Active Desktop loaded and ran for that session, but upon Reboot, was lost.

I suspect my problem would be solved if that part of the Registry could be restored to default settings.  Any other ideas?
