Author Topic: Cannot access my Yahoo mail account from some browsers  (Read 5075 times)

I have been using Firefox (4.0 currently) as my browser for years now.  However, a few days ago I started getting an error message when I attempted to access my Yahoo mail account via MyYahoo home page mail preview link(s) as follows:  "404 Not Found".  I also got that result when trying to access the mail via Yahoo's home page.  Interestingly, I also noticed that the same error message was posted in the segment of my customised MyYahoo home page that usually contained Yahoo's banner advertisement.

Just a couple days ago I downloaded and installed IE8 and tried accessing my mail via MyYahoo home page mail preview links again.  I was, on some occasions able to get it, but once there I experienced long delays or freezes when I attempted to change pages.

I then downloaded and installed Google's Chrome browser and I can access my Yahoo mail without any problems whatsoever....as of yet, anyhow.  However, I'd prefer to return to using the Firefox browser if possible.

The conclusion, of course, is that my issues with accessing my Yahoo mail account are somehow browser related, because each of three browsers produces different results.

I have run scans for malware (and found none) with Avast 6.0.1091, Malwarebytes, Ad Aware, and Mamutu.  I have also scanned with Highjack This and have a log on file, but I don't see how I can send it to anyone who might want to analyze it.

I'd appreciate any suggestions or comments on how to correct this  problem.  I have submitted an inquiry to Yahoo but have not gotten a response yet.

Thank you, Windmaker

I can't offer any more advice than has been offered there
